Heart of Fury vs Aura of Holy Might
[skill]Heart of Fury[/skill] vs [skill]Aura of Holy Might[/skill]
So, i often find I only have room on by skill bar for one offensive enchant, and it usually comes down to these two. With nothing else, they both seem to give about the same damage boost. HoF is nice because any bonus damage from other sources will hit more often, but I cant upkeep it as much of the time, and if I'm using Ermite's and Mystic Sweep then its sort of being wasted a bit.
Any thoughts?
Edit: grr...the forum still doesnt recognize pve skills?

Heart of Fury. It's up 2/3 of the time which isn't bad, and i usually only use 1 of either mystic or eremites; so an IAS isn't wasted.

I'd say Heart of Fury because the IAS is really helpful in many cases. With 20% enchant mod, it can last for ~22 seconds out of the 30 so 8 sec cool down isn't so bad for an IAS that lasts that long. Unless your Kurzick rank is like 8+, then stick with Heart of Fury.

I've found Heart of Fury exceptionally useful when you have several "normal" attacks, as opposed to Mystic/Eremite's which break the cycle...
That and holy damage isn't usually a big deal anyway. If you don't have an avatar maybe there's some point as it stops damage getting reduced... but on Avatar of Lyssa (which I use for most PvE these days) the bonus damage is so huge you don't need it.
And of course, AoB + holy flame ... yeah. I would love to see a skill bar with both.
Edit: My bad, thought you meant Heart of Holy Flame, which is quite different from Aura of Holy Might.

You talking about AoHM or HoHF? What makes AoHM great is not the holy damage, but the damage rating bonus.
E.g. Against a foe with 100 AR, you having 16 Scythe Mastery and a customized max +15% dmg scythe
Hitting normally yields a damage range of around 7.13 - 32.5
Hitting with AoHM at rank 5 kurz/lux yields a range of around 11 - 50.12
Burn me if I gave wrong info/numbers.

Yeah I mistakenly thought it was about HoHF. AoHM is actually very good... sadly I haven't done enough ABing/whatever to have it yet. :/ Need to get ASAP though, it looks like a non-elite Vow of Strength...

Aura of holy might is still pretty good even at rank 1.
Either way both enchantments have very different effects so trying to compare them isn't really possible. I agree with jesh run em both.

Using the same conditions as my previous post:
VoS at 13 Earth Prayers has a range of 10.27 - 46.80
AoHM as before has a range of 11 - 50.12
I dare say AoHM is superior since you don't need to use up attribute pts, you can use attack skills, and you can take another elite. Of course you could try to use both...

Did you just say Lyssa is bad?
How many mesmers have cast [card]Ignorance[/card] on you in the last 5 minutes? 70?
Lyssa isn't bad and its not niche, its something you can bring anywhere, people are goiong to cast skills...and when they do...theres lyssa saying "Cast a long spell and go to hell"
Lyssa + arcane conundrum = Fun!!!!
Melandru may be good >.> but its ugly!

Natural beauty versus the illusion of beauty... I know which one I'd choose. Especially since one is more 'fertile'.

Lyssa is possibly the ugliest avatar. But in general use it may have the best utility; extra damage on targets activating skills is hardly area-specific. Unlike Dwayna, Grenth and Balthazar...

because usign a skill to gain health is specialized
re:lyssa:
doing extra(conditional) damage at the expense of a non maintainable elite(or in pve, doing extra damage when the monsters drop like flies) is not all that spectacular.
dwayna makes godly tanks, and melandru makes unkillable destruction machines
imo
*sigh* why do i hang out in the derv forum, i hate dervishes...

That is a very good question.
Lyssa is too picky if you ask me for PVE,
The order of pref for me goes
Dwayna>Mel>Grenth>Lyssa>Balth
I use the non pve skill more often just don't like heart of fury.

When it comes to Avatars, it's all about what you want to do.
When it comes to those enchantments, Heart of the Holy Flame, Hands Down.

There's no reason why you can't fit them both onto your skill bar as long as you don't overload yourself with defensive skills.
